First Fridays at the Eames House

To make visits to the Eames House more accessible, we are offering a limited number of reduced-rate tickets for our Grounds and Studio Visit on the first Friday of each month. 

Tickets will be released in two batches: the first at the beginning of the month prior, and the second midway through the month prior. This gives you another opportunity to reserve if tickets sell out during the first drop!

We ask that you please limit your purchase to two tickets per order to ensure that as many visitors as possible can see the Eames House .


More about the Grounds and Studio Visit: 

Enjoy exploring the grounds at your own pace, where staff and docents will be nearby to answer questions and share stories about the Eames House and Charles and Ray.

From outside, you will be able to view the entire ground floor of the Eames House. Preserved just as Charles and Ray left it, the home is filled with original Eames furniture alongside their cherished collections, each object offering a glimpse into their lives, travels, and philosophy of design. 

You’ll also have the rare opportunity to step inside Charles and Ray’s private Studio, a space never before open to the public. Currently on view is a curated selection from the exhibition The Eames Houses, an exploration of the Eameses' residential architecture.

The visit lasts one hour and does not include interior access to the Eames House residence. However, visitors are able to enter the Studio.

Ticket Terms Agreement and General Release and Liability Waiver

Notice: By purchasing tickets from the Charles & Ray Eames Foundation (CREF), you are agreeing to these terms and conditions on behalf of each ticket holder (“Holder/s”), and each Holder will be releasing CREF from all liability as described below. These terms and conditions have legal consequences. The ticket purchaser is advised to read the following carefully.

General: The ticket being purchased will permit the Holder admission to the Eames House grounds and/or participation in the subject CREF activity including but not limited to visits, tours, and educational activities (collectively, the”Activities”). By purchasing or using the ticket each holder is agreeing to, accepting and will abide by these terms and conditions and any attendance or participation rules or other requirements of CREF that may be posted at the Eames House or on the CREF website (collectively, the “Rules”) which may be modified, amended, or supplemented at any time by CREF. Each Holder also understands and agrees that CREF and its representatives are relying on each Holder’s release and waiver of liability promises set forth below to allow the Holder to enter the Eames House grounds and participate in any of the Activities.

All sales are final and non-refundable by CREF. Rescheduling requests can be accommodated only if they are made at least seven (7) days prior to the original tour date and there are sufficient open ticket slots at the time requested. Requests made fewer than seven days in advance cannot be honored.
If you wish to reschedule to a future date for which tickets have not yet been released, we are happy to issue a credit for future use as long as your request is made seven days prior to your original tour date.

The Holder is solely responsible for safeguarding the ticket. Lost, stolen, forgotten, unreadable or destroyed tickets will not be replaced. The use of counterfeit or invalid tickets is prohibited. The duplication; reprinting; advertising, promotion (e.g. contests, sweepstakes, commercial endeavors); or resale or attempted resale of any ticket in violation of applicable law or without express written permission of CREF is prohibited and grounds for seizure or cancellation. CREF may bar or eject from current or future admission to any CREF facility or event, without refund, any Holder who: (i) fails to comply with any Ticket terms or conditions or any Rules, and/or any instructions of CREF staff; or (ii) acts in an inappropriate, dangerous or disorderly manner. CREF reserves the right to refuse any person admission and to remove any person from the Eames House grounds. CREF does not permit alcohol or smoking/vaping on the premises of the Eames House, and violation can result in the Holder and their party being removed from the property. Animals (except service animals trained to perform a specific task to aid a person with a disability) are not permitted on the Eames House grounds.

Personal Media Use: If the Holder desires permission from CREF to record the Eames House via video tape, digital video, film, or digital and/or analog still photographs, they agree as follows:

The Holder will record or film images of the Eames House for their personal use only, and are not acting on behalf of any other person, organization, media company or other entity. The Holder understands and agrees that they have no rights to make any use of the images obtained at the Eames House other than for personal, non-commercial use, and that they cannot sell, transfer or give the photographs, footage, film, video or images to any other party, except for personal use, and they agree to not to provide such photographs, footage, film, video or images to any third party. For the avoidance of doubt, the Holder agrees that the foregoing may not be used to promote any product or business, in any media at any time.
The Holder understands and agrees that, if they desire to make any use other than for personal use of the photographs, footage, film, video or images, they can do so only if they obtain written permission from CREF and Eames Office, LLC. (Contact: [email protected]) The Holder understands and agrees that no monetary compensation or other consideration shall be provided to them for the capture or use of photo or video materials for personal use.

Assumption of All Risks: The Holder expressly assumes all risks associated with their presence on the Eames House property and involvement in Activities, including but not limited to any claims for personal injury, property damage, or other liabilities that may arise during their time on site.

Knowing and Voluntary Agreement: By accepting these terms and conditions, Holder acknowledges that they have carefully read in its entirety this release and waiver, and fully understand all of its contents. Holder is aware that they assume all risks associated with their presence at CREF property, including at the Eames House, and involvement in Activities, and that this is a legally binding agreement between the Holder and CREF. The Holder acknowledges that they are signing this agreement freely.

FAQs

Q: Where is the Eames House?

A: The Eames House is located at 203 Chautauqua Blvd, Pacific Palisades, CA 90272. 

Q: Can I park at the Eames House? 

A: There is no parking available at the Eames House itself. If parking or taking rideshare, we ask that you park or set up drop-off and pick-up points on the street called Corona Del Mar just above the Eames House. A parking map will be provided with your ticket confirmation. 

Rideshare is encouraged, and public transit is also convenient via the Big Blue Bus Route 9 with stops #2033 and #2417 just a few minutes walking from the Eames House.

Q: Can I take photos at the Eames House?

A: We encourage all exterior photography and photography of the Studio at the Eames House, but interior photography of the Eames House residence is not permitted. This includes photographs taken through open windows or doors, or through glass panes. Photographs may be shared freely for personal use, but any commercial or otherwise non-personal use is prohibited.

Q: Are pets allowed on the Eames House grounds? 

A: Due to the delicate nature of the Eames House site and structures, we can only accommodate service animals trained to perform specific tasks to aid persons with disabilities. Unfortunately, we ask that pets and emotional support animals do not make the trip with you to the Eames House!
